I like the tiddly-winks and the bug idea... but both are a choke hazard. We are currently looking at colored wooden nickles or tongue depressors.

Are there any thoughts or experience with the distribution, collection and timing issues?

Thanks Paul

Love this idea!  Alternately, use marbles or little plastic bugs...  What a fun way to track!!!!

How about issuing tiddly winks instead?

We are about to open the "Play Museum," a gallery at the Illinois State Museum. The public opening is Saturday, March 26th, and you are all welcome to come.

We anticipate that this new exhibit will be very popular. We feel we will need to control the number of visitors in the gallery for both safety and experiential reasons. A timed ticket would be ideal, however, we are free and therefore have no ticketing or timing mechanism. We also don't expect this to be a consistently reoccurring problem. So we need a simple temporary solution. One of the staff suggested distributing a limited number of poker chips (red, white & blue) as a way to count folks, time attendance and invite people back. I was wondering if anyone of Museum-L might have experience with this and would like to share. On list or directly to:
