Hi all,
Just curious about how you all might comment on the proposed
use of geothermal heating and cooling in a historic house. It runs a
continuous loop of water circulating through pipes 9 ft. underground where the
temp is about 65 degrees year round. It is circulated through the house
by putting water pipes under the floors and in the walls. While I loved
the idea of ‘going green’ and maintaining a fairly stable temp
(if indeed it really will be, as we have very hot summers and fairly cold
winters), I really wonder about the wisdom of putting pipes with water in them
in the walls of a very old and quite important two story house.
Construction is wood except for exterior walls that are brick with space
between inner and outer wall.
