Museum Security Administrator, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, University of Oregon - The Museum Security Administrator (MSA) is a supervisory position within the University of Oregon's Department of Public Safety (UODPS) that is assigned to the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (JSMA). The MSA works in partnership with JSMA administration to provide safety and security services. The MSA is responsible for administering the safety and security operations for the JSMA including recruiting, training and supervising Museum Security Officers (MSO's) and student/volunteer museum support workers; develops and oversees an internal program for monitoring the fire and life safety systems, CCTV surveillance technology, security alarms, VESDA and other security-related systems within the museum. The MSA will develop policies and procedures that reflect best practices in museum security which are consistent with museum accreditation security standards and ensures a comprehensive facility security program that places particular emphasis on the protection of art, assets and the safety of museum staff, visitors and volunteers. This position is in charge of developing and implementing a comprehensive safety and security training program for all JSMA staff and volunteers; works closely with campus partners on the updating, maintaining, training and exercising staff on the facility emergency operations and business continuity plan; maintains university safety, security policies and standards; and fosters a positive and transparent collaborative relationship between UODPS and JSMA. Requires an Associate's degree from an accredited university, preferably in criminal justice, public administration or a related field and a minimum of one year full-time experience managing a comprehensive security program in a museum, historic site, historic collection or artifact care program.
