Do you know an
inspirational museum educator worthy of broader recognition? Have you developed
an exceptional, tested program or published resource that is innovative and
effective at reaching target audiences? Do you know a new member of the museum
education field who would benefit from attending the annual AAM conference in
Awards -
Since 1983, EdCom has recognized outstanding contributions to museum education
by individual practitioners, by museums offering distinguished programs and
publications, and by those individuals demonstrating leadership within the
entire museum community and beyond.
Awards are available in several
categories:
Diversity Fellowship -
EdCom, like AAM, is committed to making museums more responsive to diversity.
One way that EdCom encourages museums to reflect diversity is by awarding
fellowship assistance to new museum education professionals of diverse
cultural/ethnic backgrounds to attend the AAM Annual Meeting. The fellowship
covers the annual meeting early registration fee, attendance at EdCom events
with an EdCom mentor, and a one year EdCom membership.
