In January our volunteer coordinator will send out the annual volunteer interest assessment - where folks tell us if they want to be solicited for events in the new year. We have about 400 names on the list, with maybe 250 active volunteers. Most of our volunteers are involved in staffing special events. This year the coordinator wants to also make it a skills assessment - to survey our current volunteers on the skills they have that they might offer in other volunteer activities besides event staffing. But she's having a difficult time coming up with descriptive phrases for the types of skills, or deciding if it should be more open-ended. Do you gather skills or task requests from your volunteers?
