Director, Office of Archaeological Research, The University of Alabama

Position is responsible for solicitation and administration of CRM contracts and grants, supervision of OAR personnel, implementation of relevant federal and state standards,  oversight of the fee curation program for archaeological collections, and oversight of the management of Alabama State Archaeological Site file and On-Line Archaeological Resources Database.   

Minimum Qualifications are a MA in archaeology, anthropology, history or other relevant field and at least five (5) years of relevant experience. A doctorate is preferred to assure a scholarly focus for research and recognition by the professional community. Effective verbal and written communications skills and excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills are required. The individual in this position is expected to maintain registration in the RPA.  Valid U.S. driver's license and be at least 21 and have an acceptable MVR as determined by the insurance carrier.    Visit Staff Employment Opportunities at jobs.ua.edu for more information and to apply.
