Brooklyn Children’s Museum would like to donate any or all of one of their older exhibits to a children’s group, cultural institution, theater group (stage, set design), school, garden or similar group.  The receiving institution would incur shipping costs, however, from New Jersey or Arizona (we have 2 copies) or can haul it themselves.

A Brief description:

Wild About Plants is a botanical adventure that engages children ages 5 –12 and families in an exploration of plants in everyday life. In Wild About Plants, families touch, smell, magnify, build, watch, and listen to plants, uncovering what they do for people and what people can do for them. Visitors explore the home of a fictional character, science enthusiast Flora Wild.

In Ms. Wild’s home, visitors:

Decide what’s for dinner by transforming raw plants into finished meals

Follow the story of how plants become household items

Watch videos of Ms. Wild’s neighbors discussing their plant-related hobbies

Play a game about planning plant-friendly cities

Grow like a plant in an interactive time-lapse video

Put on a puppet theater show

Aligned with national science educational standards for life science, Wild About Plants conveys the importance of plants to humanity. Visitors uncover their personal connections to nature and discover extraordinary plant stories in familiar objects such as food, medicines, and clothes, opening children’s minds to thinking about plants as a part of their everyday lives.
