Job Description: Registrar

 

Museum of the Moving Image seeks a Registrar to be responsible for the proper physical care, movement, and documentation of all objects in its collection. The collection comprises over 130,000 objects illustrating all aspects of the production, promotion, and exhibition of movies, television, and digital entertainment, from the inception of motion pictures at the turn of the twentieth century to the present day. This is a full-time exempt position.

 

Qualified candidates should have at least three years of experience working in a museum registration department, an understanding of the legal and ethical aspects of collecting, preserving, borrowing, and exhibiting works of art and material culture, and experience working with collections and digital asset management systems.
