Dear Museum Colleague:
There is still time to register for
the 2011 AMM Conference, Museums Making Connections, which is scheduled
for October 6-9 at the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. This
year’s conference will feature outstanding sessions, speakers and special
events, including a private concert performance by legendary rocker Patti
Smith at the opening reception at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Advanced
registrations must be postmarked by September 17. A conference program
can be downloaded at http://www.midwestmuseums.org/pdfs/2010_prelim_program.pdf.
A registration form can be downloaded at http://www.midwestmuseums.org/pdfs/2010%20Conference%20Registration%20Form.pdf.
If you’re planning to join us
in Cleveland, make sure that you reserve your room at the Renaissance
Hotel. AMM has negotiated a special room rate of $119 for the conference
and will honor the rate through September 16. To reserve your room
online, visit https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventID=2499015.
By phone, contact the hotel at 800-266-9432. The Renaissance is a
lovely, historic property. A metro runs directly from the airport to the
hotel and costs less than $2 (and takes less than 30 minutes) per trip.
Finally, I’m pleased to
announce the Parts 2 and 3 of the YouTube sensation are not available.
