I work for a Chicago-based research and
evaluation firm
that works with museums and other cultural and educational institutions, and I am helping some colleagues prepare for an upcoming panel
discussion. We are
trying to find examples of art or history museums that provide unique,
behind
the scenes experiences for visitors. We are particularly interested in institutions that
offer
visitors the opportunity to participate
in the
work of the museum in some capacity -- not just to passively watch
museum
workers (conservationists, collections managers, etc.) doing their work.
I'm wondering if anyone out there might know of any art or history
museums
currently implementing something like this? Please let me know.
Thank you!
