I am the Director for the Cortland County Historical Society, and we were
contacted by a researcher working on an exhibit and other materials on 19th
century painted screens. We have two in our collection and information on the
painter as well as the company he was employed by. She is hoping to find other
examples of screens and ephemera which was related to the process of painting
screens. She is hoping to visit sites in the area to look at such items during
her visit in July.

A quick google search results in a history and articles about the painted
screens, but not examples to point her towards. I know she has plans to see
ours in Cortland and visit the 1890 House, as well as a trip to Aurora, but any
other "local" sites would be a great help. Anyone who might have suggestions
for places to visit, or has examples in their collection and would be willing to
meet with her, please contact me off-list.
