Facilities and Security Manager Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Administration, the Facilities and Security Manager plans and administers all direct security and facility concerns. Hires and trains the Smart Museum guard crew of 20 - 30 student Gallery Attendants. Supervises guard/desk crew during museum public hours and periodic rental receptions during non-public hours. Enforces security policies and procedures by periodically patrolling galleries and monitoring on-duty security crew. Prepares updates and communicates guard schedules, conducts periodic student employee reviews, and ensures appropriate security coverage. Manages day to day Facilities issues in regard to building maintenance in non-gallery spaces, and in regard to utilities, security and fire protection in all spaces. Assists with Museum and Event setup and break down as needed. Essential Functions 20% Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Administration, hire and train Smart Museum guard/desk crew of 20 - 30 students. 20% Schedule and Supervise security staff during museum public hours and periodic rental receptions during non-public hours. Enforce security policies and procedures and encourage positive visitor interaction by periodically patrolling galleries and monitoring on-duty security crew. Occasionally perform Gallery Attendant or Front Desk Attendant responsibilities. 20% Prepare, update and communicate guard schedules, communicate Museum information, conduct periodic employee reviews, and ensure appropriate security coverage and positive visitor interaction. 10% Event set up assistance which includes carrying and setting up 50 lb tables and assorted chairs. 15% Manage day to day Facilities issues in regard to building maintenance in non-gallery spaces, and in regard to utilities, security and fire protection in all Museum spaces. Other Functions 10% Coordinate and support special building projects and capital projects 5% Provide other assistance as needed to ensure the smooth running of the museum. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ similar supervisory experience required; experience in a museum and/or security setting preferred; knowledge of and ability to carry out emergency procedures required; trustworthiness and the ability to act responsibly required; strong verbal and written communication skills required; excellent interpersonal skills required; strong problem-solving skills required; detail-oriented required; ability to handle confidential and security-related issues required; ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks required; ability to lift 50 lb loads up and down stairs required; knowledge of Microsoft Office, email systems and database applications required; Adobe Photoshop Illustrator experience preferred.
