You probably could make a general recommendation such as Ebay, but many people (including myself) consider Ebay overpriced and inaccurate. I wouldn't make any specific recommendations. I always refer a donor to the American Society of Appraisers because then there can be no perception that I'm favoring anyone or any locality. They also can provide you with the exact expertise you need. You may want to help out the donor, but what you really want to do is stay as far away from the process as possible and protect your institution. Jeff Tenuth Indiana State Museum 650 W. We know that we can not appraise items but can we make a listing of site such as Ebay, Abebooks, Rarebooks and appraisers around the country to post on our website or include in a letter of receipt? I am looking for examples and guidance. We are a special museum and not every appraiser will know about Osteopathy Check out the collection online at snom.pastperfect-online.com<http://snom.pastperfect-online.com> A.T.
