Summer Museum Lead Educator Part-time   Long Island, NY
The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum is looking for an educator and program leader to head our innovative children’s summer vacation program, Wizard University. This is the second year of this eight week program, and the museum is looking for a strong educator to coordinate and provide creative, challenging and innovative summer-fun programming.

 

Responsibilities include: oversight of the summer museum program, implementation and development of curriculum, and evaluation and promotion of the summer program. This position offers the opportunity to build upon a very successful program, and with subject matter ranging from astronomy to the arts and Egyptology, a vast range of intriguing educational and fun projects.


Qualities and Skills Needed
- Outgoing, enthusiastic and upbeat personality
- Superior written, interpersonal and public speaking skills
- Enjoys working with youth (1st – 5th grade)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience working with children
- Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
- B.A. required


Salary is hourly, likely at entry-level, although experience will be a factor.
