One way you might be able to give docents an incentive is to give them "ownership" of the myths and inaccuracies. That is, ask them to collect and share. Put out a binder or pad where docents can jot down the most common myths or inaccuracies (from anyone -- including visitors) they have seen or heard. Send out a form by email or letter. Set up an anoymous drop-box wherever volunteers check in or congregate. Any observations can be made anonymously, , so no one docent feels unduly singled out.

You could even ask a small group of docents to head up disseminating these to the full volunteer staff, deciding whether to do it in writing or in a meeting or however they prefer.

This assumes, of course, that docents are aware of what others are saying or doing, but in my experience as a volunteer docent, they do.
