Preparedness, Response and Recovery
The Campbell
Center still has space available for its upcoming workshop entitled
"Emergency Preparedness, Response and Recovery, May 17-20, 2010.
This is a very intensive, hands-on course that includes a practice mock water
emergency drill. The course is being taught by Hilary Kaplan of NARA and Sharon
Bennett of the College of Charleston.
Cost
for tuition, course materials, lodging and most meals is $1190.00. NEH
scholarships of $400 are still available for qualifying participants.
Design and
Construction of Mounts For Exhibits
The Campbell
Center for Historic Preservation Studies still has space available for its
upcoming workshop entitled "Design and Construction of Mounts For
Exhibits," June 2-5 2010. This is a very intensive,
hands-on, 4-day course, and includes everything from learning the theory
of design and fabrication of mounts to actual cutting, bending and gluing
of acrylics, and brazing metals. The course is being taught by Pam Gaible,
Mount Shop Supervisor at the Field Museum of Chicago, and Earl Lock, a
well-known independent exhibits fabricator.
Cost for
tuition, course materials, lodging and most meals is $1055.00. NEH
scholarships of $300 are still available for qualifying participants.
Making
Storage Boxes, Mounts, and Enclosures
The Campbell
Center still has space available for its upcoming workshop entitled
"Making Storage Boxes, Mounts, and Enclosures," June 3-5,
2010. This is a very intensive, hands-on, 3-day course in which
participants will learn how to construct safe storage enclosures for artifacts.
The workshop will also address methods for upgrading storage on a
budget. The instructor for this course is Susan Maltby, an Objects
Conservator from Toronto.
Cost for
tuition, course materials, lodging and most meals is $795.00. NEH
scholarships of $300 are still available for qualifying participants.
