The Smithsonian American Art Museum invites you to attend “California War Babies: Picturing World War II in the 1960s,” a lecture by Dr. Cécile Whiting, winner of the 2009 Charles C. Eldredge Prize for outstanding scholarship in American art. Dr. Whiting, professor of art history at the University of California, Irvine, is the author of “Pop L.A.: Art and the City in the 1960s." Her talk will take place at 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009, in the museum's Nan Tucker McEvoy Auditorium at 8th and G Streets NW, Washington D.C. A reception with light refreshments to follow.
