The
* works closely with the Development
Director and the Executive Director to coordinate and implement the comprehensive
development plan that encompasses individual, foundation, corporate and
government funding;
* proactively seeks new funding
sources that are local, regional and national in scope, and stewards
relationships with current and past major donors and supporters;
* coordinates, implements and
researches all aspects of the grant application program to foundations,
corporations and government agencies;
* writes grant proposals and funding
reports;
* provides targeted research of new
grant and other funding sources;
* assists with all aspects of the
major annual Gala fundraiser and other special event related tasks;
* develops, maintains and reviews
the database, handles gift processing and generates management reports;
* participates in strategic planning
and other management initiatives as may occur from time to time; and,
* serves as an ambassador for the
A college degree with a minimum of five years experience in
researching, cultivating, and soliciting varied funding sources is preferred. Strong
grant-writing experience a must. Museum or other not-for-profit experience is
important. The ability to work with relational databases and strong
communication skills are required. The successful candidate will have
outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work
with a wide range of individuals, a willingness to engage with donors and
