Carrie,
Have you seen Gunter
Waibel’s article about metadata standards in Libraries, Archives and Museums?

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Metadata
Standards
We are in the process of upgrading our catalog and as
part of this we are looking at possibly changing our metadata standard.
We currently use MARC, because when the system was
developed years ago that was all that was available to us. While the data
gurus are happy for us to stay with MARC (because they admit it will be less
work for them), they will help us change to another standard that is available.
I’ve looked into CDWA and CCO. But I was hoping
that there might be another institution that has taken the plunge and would be
willing to share their experience.
If you are willing to share, please feel free to
contact me off list.
Thank you,
Carrie Snow
