Hi,
I’ve got a dilemma and I’m hoping to get some expert advice. We have two stone tools that were lent in the early 1970s; in the mid-1980s, they were given accession numbers and numbered using permanent black ink, possibly Sharpie. There doesn’t seem to
be any base coat. The lender has recently contacted us and wants the items back. I’ve tried removing the numbers with distilled water and acetone; the acetone took off some ink, but left enough so that the numbers are still clearly visible. I’d really appreciate
any suggestions for getting these numbers off!
Thanks!
Corinne
