The New York State Historical Association, Fenimore Art Museum and The
Farmers’ Museum seek a Director for Development to provide leadership for
the ongoing growth and expansion of their comprehensive fundraising program.



A member of the senior management team reporting directly to the
President/CEO, the Director for Development is responsible for all of the
program, operating, and capital fundraising needs of NYSHA, Fenimore Art
Museum and The Farmers' Museum.  The director leads the growth and expansion
of a comprehensive fundraising program that consists of major gifts, planned
giving, annual programs including membership and direct mail appeal, grant
writing, corporate and foundation relations, government funding and special
events.  The director maintains regular and sustained contact with trustees,
association members and community leaders to ensure that the organizations’
missions and long-range goals are met.  The position is based in
Cooperstown, New York, and extensive travel may be necessary.



The selected candidate will have a proven track record in all phases of
fundraising in the private, non-profit sector, preferably in a museum,
historical association or similar cultural institution.



NYSHA, Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum are located in
Cooperstown, part of the Leatherstocking region of New York, between the
Catskill Mountains and Mohawk Valley. The museums offer a competitive
