The Education Assistant’s primary responsibilities are
to assist in the development and implementation of the
q Develop, schedule,
and conduct tours in consultation with Curator of Exhibitions.
q Develop and
conduct the monthly Family Art Saturday
program in consultation with Curator of Exhibitions.
q Develop support
materials for school and adult tours and Family
Art Saturday (including scripts and/or strategies, activity sheets,
teacher guides, hands-on art-making activities, etc.) in conjunction with
q Promote
q Track data
about tour program and Family Art Saturday
including digital photographs, attendance, and evaluation forms.
q Work
collaboratively with
q Assistance
with select public programs in support of exhibitions.
q Participate
in select staff meetings.
q Participate
in select special events and community projects.
q Perform
other education duties as assigned.
q Degree in
Art Education, Art History, or Studio Art
q Two years of
relevant professional experience; classroom or museum education setting preferred.
q Experience
working with children of all ages and general audiences
q Excellent
written and oral communication skills.
q Knowledge of
contemporary art and education practice.
q Ability to
work independently and as part of a team.
