Updating your lighting, or changing light bulbs, is the most significant change you can make in any building. CFLs have improved in brightness, throw distance, beam angle and color temperature options. This makes them suitable for use in museums to accentuate artwork effectively while reducing electrical demand for lighting up to 75%. In addition, CFLs operate at a much cooler temperature than incandescent bulbs reducing the demand on air conditioning significantly. LEDs have also improved, and offer even greater savings in the long run, but they are extremely expensive upfront.
