POSITION DESCRIPTION
MIM seeks a highly motivated individual to fill the following
position. This position reports to the Registrar. Part-time (up to 36 hours
per week), temporary (1 year), with limited benefits and highly competitive
hourly rates.
Registration Documentation Assistant:
Position
Description: The Registration Documentation Assistant will assist
primarily with the documentation and cataloging of MIM collections in TMS,
MIM’s collections database, as well as assisting with documenting the
outcome of exhibits design reviews and mount-making. This includes creating
new object records, adding constituent information, adding valuation
information, and updating object numbers and tags following accessioning.
Assist with other Registration and Collections Management activities as
assigned, including ordering supplies.
Qualifications:
B.A. in anthropology, art history, museum studies, or related area preferred.
Minimum one year experience with some data management experience required.
Ability to problem solve, work independently and excel in a high performance,
fast-paced, team-oriented culture. Exceptional attention to detail required,
with strong writing and collaborative interpersonal skills. Ability to lift 50
pounds and climb a step-ladder. Valid driver’s license. Local
