I have a bit of an unusual situation and would appreciate any insight from list members. The museum I work at is owned by the city; however, the Library/Museum Board of Directors is in charge of the museum, obviously the Board is also in charge of the public library. I would like to recommend the reformation of a standing committee for the museum that still answers to the Board of Directors (this had been done in the 1930s). This committee would be more focused on the museum and also act as an accession committee. Does anyone have experience setting up a standing committee for a museum that would be separate from but still answering to a larger board? Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you,
Christine Cross
