Liz, I had not heard of this before last fall. One of my former assistants married last fall and they had a cookie bar. I don't believe that family and friends made the cookies, however. She was from and married in Wisconsin (outside Milwaukee). They had a formal reception, sit down dinner and dancing. The cake was cut during the reception and served with dinner. The cookie bar was open during the reception. I'm sure I can put you in touch with her, if you need. Contact me off list. Hope this helps Tracie Tracie Evans Curator of Collections Sauder Village 22611 St. Rt. 2 Archbold OH 43502 Phone: 419/446-2541 FAX: 419/445-5251 [log in to unmask] ________________________________ From: Museum discussion list [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Liz N. I don't have free cookies but am wondering if any of you can help me with some historic research I am doing. I asked it long, long ago when I did an exhibit on weddings. On to my question: Have any of you ever been to a wedding that has a "cookie table"? This is a table that has lots of cookies that have been made by families (or in some cases, a caterer.) Where and when did you see it? Have you always known about cookie tables? I could really use the help! Thanks!
