Please consider posting actual documents on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MuseDocs and then notifying both the MuseDocs list and Museum-L of the availability of the aforesaid materials.  We just hit 1,000 members yesterday who eagerly await such materials.  The merits in posting to the MuseDocs "Share Drive" is an owner only needs to post a document once, and not send it 100 times to all the me-toos, and the document is then there for others who may need.  Of course, please do not post confidential info.

Thanks.

We are engaged in a similar process. I hope people will respond either to the list,  or share with me offline.

Thanks.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Comprehensive Collections Policy

The Historical Society that I work for is currently revising our collections policy.  Our current policy has information regarding the accession, deaccession, loans of objects, etc.  The current policy reflects our museum and archival collections, but we also have a library collection, oral history collection and folklife collections that we want to include in the new policy.  Does anybody have a good example of a collections policy that incorporates a variety of collections like this?

Thanks
Deb Rose Van Horn
