The Cantor Center also houses a permanent exhibit on the Stanford family’s collection. Leland Stanford Jr.’s collecting hobby was the basis for the creation of the museum after his death and the founding of the university. More at http://museum.stanford.edu/view/stanford_family.html.

The Cantor Art Center at Stanford University did an unusual and wonderful exhibition about collecting called "Question" about four years ago. The show was an experiment, posing questions about the Cantor's collection that visitors often ask, and encouraging the public and the staff to talk to each other about the works, about behind the scenes museum activities. You can read more about it here:http://mediacombo.net/blog/?p=6.

Hello All,

Does anyone know of exhibits on collecting that have been
