The Salt Lake Art Center, a non-profit arts organization with a budget of just under $1 million, seeks a Director of Development to implement and advance the Art Center’s development program, and to assist the Executive Director with all efforts related to fundraising and community-building activities for the Salt Lake Art Center.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·       Work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Trustees and Development Manager to develop strategies for raising funds to support the operations and programs of the Salt Lake Art Center; 

·       Plan and implement a comprehensive development program and development plan that integrates individual, corporate, foundation, and government funding sources;

·       Oversee the annual giving campaign including membership, donor drives, and donor recognition in collaboration with the Development Manager;

·       Participate in the planning and implementation of all fundraising activities, including the annual fundraiser, and working with donor and trustee groups;

·       Develop and implement community projects and collaborations designed to enhance the Salt Lake Art Center’s visibility and opportunities to increased contributed income.

A college degree with a minimum of five years experience in development and/or researching, cultivating, and soliciting funding sources is preferred. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written skills; outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals; a willingness to engage with donors and patrons and to participate in a variety of Salt Lake Art Center activities and events; and the ability to meet deadlines and to be a team player. Knowledge of Utah’s philanthropic community and an interest in contemporary visual arts and/or non-profits a plus. Enthusiasm, passion, integrity, and initiative are essential characteristics. Salary commensurate with experience.
