The Sewall-Belmont House & Museum, home of the historic National Woman’s Party, located on Capitol Hill has an immediate opening for a full-time Administrative & Development Coordinator.  The ideal candidate will have two to three years administrative experience, preferably in a local non-profit environment.  A positive attitude, high degree of initiative, and strong work ethic are essential for the position.  Benefits include health insurance, three weeks of annual paid vacation and paid parking.

 

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES:  

Performs clerical and administrative tasks to support the Sewall-Belmont House & Museum and coordinates flow of information between all employees, Board of Directors and docents.  Prepare for and staff Executive Committee and Board of Directors meetings.

 

Answers phone and returns calls as needed, greets visitors, vendors and delivery persons, processes incoming and outgoing mail, maintains and oversees tracking systems for each program and events.  Order and maintain office supplies and postage.  Maintain phones and master voice mail functions.  Daily financial duties include processing checks and credit cards, paying bills, making bank deposits, and maintaining bank balances and assisting offsite accountant.

 

Performs mail merges and coordinating targeted mailings for donors and prospects, generates reports for the staff and Board of Directors, draft and produce letters, gift and pledge agreements, acknowledgements and other correspondence as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelors degree preferred but not required; two to three years administrative experience, preferably in a fund raising environment.  Accuracy, attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines and successfully balance tasks in support of multiple managers are all required.  Positive attitude, a high degree of initiative, and strong work ethic are essential.  Candidate must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.  Candidate must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and development and financial software.
