POSITION: MUSEUM FLOOR MANAGER
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Implement and ensure adherence to all established operational policies and procedures while utilizing professional practices which support the Museum's mission and goals; implement Museum policy within the framework of overall NMCP mission and policy.
· Through effective management of front-line staff, provide customer service in a timely and responsive manner, assure the museum runs smoothly, staffed adequately and morale is maintained.
· Ensures that facility maintains a safe and clean environment for the staff and guests.
· Plans and implements guest service programs to maximize earned income and customer satisfaction.
· Supervises internal control, cash management, financial records, deposits and payments on the shift being worked.
· Provides operational support for special events.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Develops and implements gallery teaching programs.
· Trains and supervises gallery staff to present highly engaging, interactive museum experiences.
· Works with Director of Operations to ensure that galleries and facilities are maintained.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university in (discipline) Business Management, Museum Studies, Museum Education, or a related discipline with progressively responsible leadership experience in a museum, or career background in the non-profit, for-profit or public sector, including financial and human resources management responsibilities.
· Minimum 5+ years experience in progressively responsible position in an entertainment/hospitality operations environment, preferably at an attraction, high volume entertainment venue, or museum; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Effective ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-management, internal, and external customers.
· Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
· Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently with little direction.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
