RE: resources related to disability awareness training

In addition to universities, check with your local municipality. Most have an office or liaison for people with disabilities (e.g.., Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities, County Alliance for Citizens with Disabilities). Check the yellow pages under social service organizations for advocacy groups related to disabilities or special interest groups. Also, call the Disability and Business Technical Assistance Center. There are 10 located around the United States. They can help with the training or refer you to someone locally. Google "DBTAC" to find the resource center in your region. Each state also has Independent Living Centers, who generally have staff who conduct disability awareness training.

You could also try the special needs office at your area university. i've gone that route before and they usually do a great job.
