Keni Sturgeon,
Have
you tried the ship model clubs in the North West?
The Lady Washington is a popular subject in the NW.
I may be able to help if that doesn’t work out.
Regards,

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Looking for a ship model
Hello all, I¢m in the middle of pulling
together objects for an exhibit about Oregon¢s pre-statehood for our state¢s
Sesquicentennial in 2009. I was hoping to get a ship model loaned from
either the Oregon Historical Society the Columbia River Maritime Museum for
the exhibit, but neither has an appropriate one available. So now I¢m
looking for a model of a 3 masted sloop (which was the type of ship that
Robert Gray sailed into the Columbia River) modeled on one that would have
been typical of the 1770s-1810s. If anyone has one we could borrow I
would love to hear from you. Thank you, Keni Sturgeon Curator Mission Mill Museum Salem, OR 97301 503-585-7012 |
