Hi All:

One of the best things that happened to me about 6 months ago was my old Xerox type copier (high volume) finally died and I was forced to look at alternatives. I also do a lot of hand color drawings on 17 x 22 inch format that required me to make many trips to Office Max and Office Depot to get them scanned in color. Typically at 200 to 300 DPI or 24 to 36 meg size files. The cost of scanning large format color drawings and burning them to a CD can get expensive at times especially 15 to 30 a week.

From my search and investigation on copy machines (high volume) I found this SHARP AR-M205 to solve both problems. It is a black and white copier but comes with a full 200 / 300 DPI color scanner that scans 17 x 22 inch documents. It is networked to all my computers so I can scan and send the tiff / jpg files to any computer on my system. At $ 7.00 per scan and CD burn, this copier saves me $105 to $210 a week in large format color scanning charges alone. Cost about $3,210.

20 years of color Architectural and exhibit slides and (negatives) were converted digitally by a Minolta Digital Scan Dual. It does anything B&W to full color including negatives to positive images. It comes with a 35MM film tray or slide feed to do all 35MM scanning. Cost $375.00

Subject: Scanner recommendation

Can anyone recommend a scanner that is good for slides, negatives and oversized documents?
