Hi Deb,

You will not be able to recreate it particularly well on a DVD, but we have a stereoscope in our office that we designed a while ago that has the necessary hardware to act as a 3D card viewer, we even designed the electronic “ballistics” so that it looks right – in fact, we created some for one of our clients years ago. I will send you a picture of the device we created to do this separately,

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] stereograph exhibit planning

I am planning an exhibit on stereograph makers Underwood & Underwood, who started their business here in Ottawa, KS.  I want to include a video to accompany the exhibit and to use separately in our audio-visual room.  I’m looking for advice about the best way to approach recreating the 3-D effect of the cards on a DVD.  I’m planning to write a grant application to our state humanities council for this project, and need to determine what the cost of this will be.  Can anyone help with this?
