The Missouri Arts Council (MAC) has grants available for museum professionals in Missouri to attend the 2008 AMM conference, Meeting in the Middle.  The Capacity Building/Conference Attendance Grants will primarily support registration, travel and lodging.  Eligible organizations may request up to $750 per person per conference.  This year’s AMM conference is scheduled for October 22-24 in Kansas City, Missouri.

 

If you would like support to attend the Association of Midwest Museums conference, then make sure that your application is postmarked no later than August 4, 2008.  The guidelines and application form are available at http://www.missouriartscouncil.org/html/applications/documents/FY09CapacityBuildingApp1.pdf. 

Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible to apply for Conference Attendance grant, an organization must be a public or private organization that:

1.       Is Missouri-based and have a Missouri address. 

2.       Is tax-exempt as determined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

3.       Is incorporated as a Missouri not-for-profit corporation and maintain not-for-profit status by filing annual registration report with the Secretary of State’s office.  For more information, visit www.sos.mo.gov/business or contact the SOS’s Corporations Division at 573-751-4153.

4.       Has a DUNS number.  It is free to register and you are under no obligation to pay for additional services or products. Some organizations have experienced challenges obtaining a free DUNS number. 

5.       Whose primary purpose is to present, produce, or serve the arts in Missouri.
