you just need to make an anaglyph.  This can be done pretty easy by anyone
who knows what they are doing.   This would then require the red/blue
glasses but doesn't require special projectors once its made.

In the Visual effects world most the major composting programs support this
naively now with the big push happening in Stereo movie.
