You might want to get in touch with the International Time Capsule Society 
at Oglethorpe University for advice.

It's possible that your circa 1920 time capsule is listed in their 
registry.  Also, their website has considerable information on how to 
construct a new time capsule, as well as how to add a new time capsule to 
their registry.
