Try an acrylic gloss medium as your top coatit dries clear and doesnıt dissolve your number. You donıt want to use a base and top coat that both dissolve in the same solvent. You want to be able to take off the top coat and correct numbering without disturbing the bottom layer. The fewer times you remove your bottom layer, the better off your artifact is. Check out Gina Nicole Delfinoıs article on artifact numbering at the Minnesota Historical Society website. Itıs very useful. Claudia -- Claudia J.
