The Theatre Museum, New York's only museum dedicated
to preserving the history of theatre, is currently searching for individuals
located in the metro New York area to serve as freelance curators for upcoming
exhibitions.
Two projects currently in the works include
"Acts of Independence: Theatre's Role in the American Revolution" and
"The Impact of Jewish Culture on American Theatre."
Qualifications:
Applicants should be able to demonstrate their
competence and ability in curatorial work and show an interest in American
Studies, Theatre history, or American History. Experience relevant to exhibition topics is preferred. Applicants with edgy, experimental
qualities to their work are encouraged to apply, since The Theatre Museum
strives to educate visitors about different ways historic events impact theatre
and life in the city today.
Bachelor's degree required.
