As some of my students take classes in this department I thought it might be of interest to some of you with design backgrounds. Position Title: Assistant Professor, Interior Design Non-tenure track, three-year renewable contract Effective Fall Semester 2008 (see http://gwired.gwu.edu/wlp/interiordesign) Basic Qualifications: Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Interior Design or a closely related field, hold active membership in one or more professional organizations (IDEC, ASID, IIDA) and be NCIDQ certified. Applicants must also have previous teaching experience at the university level which should include but is not limited to: color theory, studio classes in residential and commercial and/or large scale, green design, environment and behavior, hand drafting, textiles and finish applications, design development, digital and/or traditional material, and historic studio. Faculty are expected to stay current in the dynamic field of interior design and assume a leadership role within the program. Additional responsibilities include: student advising, program development, recruitment, university committees, and other programmatic duties. Preferred Qualifications: LEED professional accreditation is highly favored, as is experience with Council for Interior Design accreditation. Date of Review: March 25, 2008 or until position filled.
