The
Museum of Texas Tech University, located on the campus of a major research
institution, is seeking a creative, dedicated, and professionally motivated
individual to join an outstanding staff committed to the highest standards of museological practice. The Museum is an active
member of the American Association of Museums (AAM) and the International
Council of Museums (ICOM) with a long history of service to the region, as well
as the national and international communities.
The
preferred candidate will have a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.), and 3 to 5
years experience in museum education. He or she will be dedicated to providing
quality programming for audiences from pre-school youngsters to senior
citizens.
The
Curator of Education teaches one course each year to students enrolled in the
Center for Advanced Study of Museum Science and Heritage Management, a two-year
graduate level program that attracts students from around the world. The
candidate must have a sense of collegiality, cooperation, and teamwork and a
willingness to advance the professional mission of the museum and university.
