Washington, DC's most arresting new museum is hiring.

 The National Museum of Crime and Punishment (NMCP) is a privately owned attraction that will present the evolution of crime and punishment throughout American history.  The NMCP will combine historic artifacts, hands-on interactive stations, informative exhibits and displays, multi-media presentations, skill-testing competitions and simulator challenges to provide a one-of-a-kind experience.  The exhibits will be coordinated and organized to enhance the overall experience while educating guests about our nation's history of crime and punishment.   The museum is located at 575 7th St., NW, Washington DC.  Visit www.crimemuseum.org.

Event Sales Manager             

Responsibilities:

Identifies groups who are seeking an enhanced experience for a corporate meeting, fundraising event, or other special function, and sells them opportunities such as buy-outs or roof-top party events.

Functions as the primary contact for special events clients, fulfilling all logistics and maintains the relationship over time.

Coordinates all special needs of groups including transportation, meeting agenda, food and beverage and off-site activities that are relative to the sold event.

Actively up-sells business opportunities to maximize revenue for the property.

Coordinates pre-event plans and communicates booking and planning information to museum operations departments.

Aligns customer profile with the appropriate attraction product.

Achieves personal and team related revenue goals.

Maximizes guest satisfaction in the sales and planning process as well as the actual event.

Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery in accordance with the company standards.

 

Education/Qualifications:

High School or GED required; Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, or business preferred.  Minimum five years experience in entertainment/hospitality sales and marketing environment, preferably at an attraction, theme park, high volume entertainment venue, hotel, museum, science center, or park with a minimum of two plus years progressively-responsible management experience.

 

Salary and Benefits: 

Salary commensurate with experience.  Full benefits package included.

Relocation expenses will not be paid, but consideration will be given to out-of-area candidates.
