Here's one idea: The National Trust for Historic Preservation publishes Preservation magazine. It's terrific, and covers historic house museums, historic gardens, archeology related issues,--in the current issue, there are articles on a historic synagogue on the lower East Side in New York, as well as an article about driving old Route 66. Great photos, written for the general public. Cost is free with membership, and membership is $20. and up, even for institutions. Our local Art Association is asking members to sponsor a subscription for the local library in our particular field. Most of the Museum, Anthropology, or Archaeology magazines I am familiar with are for the Museum Professional or Professional Anthropologist/Archaeologist or are just too specific or focus exclusively on Old World or Biblical Archaeology. I would like to find one that is meant for the general public, has quality information and photos, and includes coverage of the Americas. Any suggestions? Thanks.
