Outreach
The Touro Synagogue Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, nonsectarian
organization in Newport, Rhode Island
dedicated to maintaining and preserving Touro Synagogue, the Levi Gale
House, Patriots Park and the Colonial Jewish Cemetery, and to promoting the
cause of religious freedom in America.
The TSF along with its partners has an on-going capital project to
conserve and expand the role of Touro Synagogue through a comprehensive historic
preservation project, the development of a visitors center with exhibit space
and educational programs.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION OF THE
POSITION
The Director of Public
Programs & Outreach reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for
the day to day operation of all public programs and outreach efforts of the
Touro Synagogue Foundation. The
Director oversees the operation of all visitor programs, educational programs,
marketing, public relations, outreach efforts, the Foundation’s membership
program, and support for the Foundation’s development
efforts.

HOURS OF
WORK
The Director of Public
Programs and Outreach is an exempt employee and is expected to work as needed to
complete assigned duties. The
Director’s regular work schedule would be Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm,
though flexibility for evening and weekend programs and meetings is
required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for the position should have completed a Bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of 10 years of experience working with the public and 5 years of supervisory experience.
