Hi Megan -

I may be able to help you with your database.  I do web/database programming. I am happy to take a look at what is going on.

Thanks -
Julie

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Database recommendations

Greeting,

The Texas Fashion Collection is beginingg a preliminary search for a new database system. Our collection consists of 20,000+ costumes, textiles, and paper archives and I was wondering if anyone out there with a similar collection could make a database recommendation. Currently we are using a database based in PHP which is Internet based. The limitations we have with the system is that its code based (meaning I cant figure out how to fix problems that are occurring without contacting the person who created it *and now lives in Alaska) and there is no support (as there would be with say pastperfect.)

I would greatly appreciate any recommendations you may have, feel free to contact me off list.
