Job Opportunity:
Database Manager/Systems Administrator, Los Angeles County Museum of Art
Regular full-time position
Duties: training staff, volunteers and interns; providing help-desk services; writing reports (on Crystal software); overseeing data cleanup projects museum wide; preparing data for export or publication to the website; coordinating with web designer, programmer, or editor; systems administration; occasional software testing and evaluation of web programs; tracking and contributing to grant-funded digital projects; managing and support of collections databases; assuring integrity of database, proper styles and standards.
Requirements: Demonstrated knowledge of MIMSY XG (or an older version of MIMSY), or another relations CMS system, as well as Crystal Reports or Reportsmith
Two years experience with museum collection procedures, eg, registration, exhibition, curatorial and/or collections management. Ability to work on a team in a large organization. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines. Knowledge of SQL and ability to write SQL statements desirable. BA in art history, museum studies, library or information science or technology, anthropology or related field.
