A question, request from my intern:

Hi!
I am a student at the University of Wyoming, and an intern at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site. Part of my research this semester involves oral histories and their use in museums. I would love to visit some sites that are currently working with oral histories in their exhibits. Would you mind taking a look at this preliminary survey and sending your answers back? Thank you so much!

1. Does your institution utilize oral histories in its exhibits?

2. If yes, what format(s)? Video, audio, or transcribed text?

3. What motivated the institution to use oral histories in exhibits?

4. Did you conduct the oral histories specifically for the exhibit(s) or where they already present in the institution's archives?

5. How have your visitors interacted with the oral histories within the exhibit(s)?

6. Do you feel the oral histories retain the voice of the speaker or do they take on the mantra of the institution?
