Vice President of Museum Programs - Operations The Milwaukee Public Museum has an immediate opening for a Vice President of Museum Programs. This position will report to the President/CEO of the Museum, be a member of the senior Museum leadership team and be a representative of the Museum to trustees, donors and the public. The VP of Museum Programs will coordinate, manage and provide effective leadership with regard to the Milwaukee Public Museum's central functions of curatorial scholarship and research, collections management, conservation, registration, exhibits, education and public programming and create synergies between curatorial and public programming through coordinated efforts to enhance the overarching educational mission of the museum. This position requires the ability to develop annual work plans, budgets and goals, utilizing a two to three year perspective as well as establishing and articulating a longer-term strategic vision for the Museum Programs. The Vice President of Museum Programs will manage a staff of approximately 34, which includes curators, collections managers, conservator, registrar, artists, educators and technicians.

Qualifications:
A Doctoral degree (Ph. D.) in one of the Museum’s disciplines of study and 10 or more years experience within a museum scientific or related area including grant-funded research, interaction with trustees, donors, the public and various governmental and non-governmental agencies. Proven executive leadership and managerial skills and knowledge of business and budget planning are essential.
