I was just discussing this in a class the other night, and was told by a wonderful educator at the Brooklyn Children's Museum that the Strong Museum in Rochester NY has been completely redesigned as a Play Museum and is absolutely wonderful. But perhaps you are looking for a museum setting that is not specifically a children's musuem?

Where can I find on line examples of children's spaces in museums? What are the best museums for kids in NYS?
